Q3 2014: Reflection-based DDoS attacks are ‘it’

Very large, very complex attacks have been the name of the game this year. Attackers want to leave a lasting impression so they employ brute force; they also want to stick around awhile so their attacks typically involve multiple vectors, meaning highly complex attacks that are difficult to shut down. This is certainly still the case as we close out Q3 of the year where reflection-based DDoS attacks are a major theme.
